Our full staff has been operating longer than any other practice in the state and is dedicated to the treatment of patients with disorders of the arteries and veins. Unlike other practices, our vascular specialist team, is uniquely trained and experienced to know how, and when, ALL forms of diagnosis and therapy should be performed. This includes not only advanced surgical bypass operations, but also medications, minimally invasive endovascular procedures such as:
- Balloon angioplasty
- Atherectomy
- Stents of all vascular beds including leg, renal and carotid arteries
- Stent grafts
Our in-depth experience separates us from some interventionalists who are only able to perform balloons or stents, and may be unable to manage the complications of these procedures.

Drs. Bergamini, George, Liechty, Jung, Rachel, Scherrer, and Thomas are renowned vascular specialists having published dozens of peer reviewed scientific publications and multiple textbook chapters. They have presented their combined knowledge frequently at scientific meetings both in the region and nationally and have patents related to innovations in the field. They are also recognized thought leaders in the medical management of vascular disorders and have pioneered the minimally invasive treatment of aortic aneurysms, office based procedures, and laser treatment of varicose and spider veins. Our physicians are supported by a highly trained staff of professionals dedicated to the care of vascular patients.
State-of-the-art Technology
ICAVL-and AAAASF Accredited Vascular Diagnostic Center and Outpatient Endovascular Center
We are proud to offer Kentucky’s only office based, comprehensive vascular diagnostic center for the convenience of our patients. We offer state-of-the-art noninvasive vascular diagnosis, including painless vascular ultrasound as well an invasive angiography.
Our Vascular Laboratory, the largest of its kind in Kentucky, was the first lab in Louisville to be certified by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL), and all seven of our sonographers are Registered Vascular Technologists.
We also have a dedicated X-ray suite, which allows us to perform diagnostic arteriography and the full range of balloon outpatient angioplasty and stenting. Patients will appreciate the ease of having all their tests, and many of their treatments, done in one conveniently located, patient-friendly environment
