![]() Dr. Bergamini is a native of Louisville, KY where he has practiced vascular surgery since 1990. He obtained his vascular training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Bergamini is board certified in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. He is a fellow of the American college of Surgeons, a registered vascular technologist with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and an Associate Professor with his alma mater, the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Bergamini has been the recipient of many awards for leadership, teaching, and research grants and has been an officer in numerous surgical societies including President of the Kentucky Vascular Surgical Society. Dr. Bergamini's surgical interest includes the prevention and treatment of stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms (open and stent graft repair), disease causing foot ulcers, gangrene and claudication, varicose veins and venous ulcers, and infections caused by vascular diseases. He is also interested in the minimally invasive Doppler ultrasound evaluation and endovascular balloon angioplasty and stent procedures of arterial and venous disease. Dr. Bergamini's office and practice is primarily located at Baptist Hospital East. He also practices at Norton's and Jewish Hospitals. He is director of the non-invasive vascular laboratory for Norton's and Medical Director of the vascular technologists training program. He participates with many of the major insurance carriers including Medicare. |
